Infant Potty Training???

ANYONE HEARD OF IT???

ANYONE TRIED IT???

I know it's wierd...but dang, diapers are expensive. And I just can't bring myself to do the cloth thing. I don't think I'm disciplined enough w/the cleaning part of it.

Here is a site to check out all the info, it's all over the internet if you google it.

http://www.timl.com/ipt/

I really want to give this infant pottying a shot...

what do you think?

I have heard of it but I also thought it sounded crazy!! But who knows, maybe it works! It would definitely save a lot of money.
Let us know what you think when you try it!

If you get this to work, I'll be sick!! Actually I'll just bring Gideon down and you can teach him too!

I have a friend in Romania who is doing this. She says it works but her son has many accidents so if you think you can deal with that, it's pbly worth trying. She said it's mostly the parent learning to communicate with the baby and learn body language-- how baby acts when is ready to go potty. It's nice because you do save a lot of money and Cambria is potty trained by 2...most people start at 2. Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

Hi there,
as someone who DOES EC, yes I can say "Go For It!" you can do it part-time, you can ease into it slowly and gradually - you can use diaper 'backup' the entire time.

Guess what? Many families minimise poopy diapers within a few months, so using cloth is easy as well as saving you heaps more money.

Pop over to my website if you'd like - I have a free guide to EC / IPT - 7 Secrets to saving diapers with elimination communication.

Let me know how you go!
I've got over 410 members discovering how to reduce their diaper use right now.

interesting I might try it was Number #3-but you just need to buy diapers when they are on sale and use a coupon EVERY TIME (buy a Sunday paper-check internet printables). Or just use off brand-Benny was a Walmart off brand baby and did fine. Ash right now is a Dillons off brand guy :) and they are both healthy happy boys-and we saved some $$

I heard of IPT from Jessica who heard of it from you so I read some info online. I just started cloth diapering my son at 13 months and learned there is a huge world of cloth diapering out there. Cleaning up cloth can be a pain but there are hoses you can connect to the water supply behind the toilet (it looks like a hose at a kitchen sink) to spray the diaper clean. Pooh doesn't stick to cloth like you'd think. They make all kinds of cute cloth covers, some that hold the cloth so you don't have to pin them and there are other accessories you can use to fasten instead of those big pins if you need to. They also make "All in One" diapers that absorb and cover and have extra space for adding a liner to absorb more. I would highly recommend cloth. Find what works and the initial cost might be high but it'll be way less than disposables in the long run. Plus you won't be contributing to the landfills! If you're going to try to IPT (good luck) I'd recommend using cloth while you learn about Cambria, and getting her to a potty every time she needs to go. Like at the mall, while riding in the car, on a walk or airplane, at the park, while visiting fam and friends, and everywhere else a young vibrant Chandler mother would go. If you want more info on cloth diapering there are tons of websites or you can email me at dobler@omahahomeforboys.org also look for a spacialty store locally but ultimately do what your heart tells you is best!! i know lots of people who do both, use EC and cloth diapers...my experience with them was that the people who use cloth have to go back to disposable often because of diaper rashes and when they go out, others dont have the equipment for cloth.
on EC, if you have the time and patience, go for it, but otherwise youspend more time trying to learn your babies "signs" than actually enjoying them being a baby. and like someone else said, there are a lot of "accidents". plus, with all of the baseball games....imagine running to those bathrooms with a baby and having them go..
