I wrote a long story to try and describe what happened today. If you just want to see the video that ended the day, skip past the boredom and hit play! p.s. this is Grant
I came home from work to a big surprise. When I pulled into our development I saw water rushing down our street. As I drove closer to our house I saw that large puddles had formed in front of our neighbors home (my brother). When I drove through the small creek that was flowing in the gutter of our driveway, I saw that our sprinklers were on. Not usually a bid deal, but they were on when I left the house at lunch (about 1pm), and they were still on when I got home (about 630pm). They had been on ALL afternoon..... I was embarrassed, and upset.
The embarrassment and the frustration was well worth what followed.
I took Cambria for a walk in the wagon to go get the mail. I decided to ask her 2 year old cousin Zach (remember, my brother is my neighbor) if he wanted to come along. He LOVES Cambria, and treats her so well.
On the way to the mail box, Zach hopped over the water. It was great fun. Zach smiled and laughed and talked to Cambria telling her the story about how he hopped over the water. Zach jibbered and jabbered the whole way to the mail box walking oh so closely to the wagon ensuring he was within arms reach of “baby”.
On the way back Zach rushed down the sidewalk as he could see the water ahead. He stopped at the water, patiently waiting for Cambria to arrive in the wagon. When the wagon finally rolled near him, he could wait no longer. He crouched in prime hopping position, turned towards Cambria and loudly asked, “Ready Baby!?!”, and jumped with all his might. But, Zach’s hop came up short… The attempt to hop over the water accidentally became a hop into the water. Good news is that into the water was even more fun than over the water! It was as if Zach had discovered the greatest toy in the world, and it was in abundance in his driveway!
A responsible Uncle should have stopped at puddle one, but what fun would that be? So, knowing that I would not have to deal with the certain mess that would ensue, I cheered and laughed after the first splash and encouraged more of it (sorry Sarah, I’m a jerk…).
The puddles spread half way down our street, and Zach found EVERY one.
The best part was when Cambria stopped trying to eat her toes, and started to pay attention to her cousin. I was unaware that a 5 month old baby could laugh out loud and giggle like she did. She laughed hysterically. Each time he splashed, Cambria laughed so hard she lost her breath. It was awesome! Of course Zach noticed that he was entertaining and it further motivated him to splash about.
Unfortunately we grabbed the camera after most of the fun had worn off. Of course, the splashing and the laughs were much less dramatic by the time we hit record. But what we got below is not bad. ENJOY!

Don't worry Grant, I don't think you're a jerk :) Even though he was good and wet, it will all dry! But remember that if Cambria wants to jump in the puddles in a few years, I will be more than happy to encourage her too!
You are a fun fun Uncle :)
Cami is super cute.
OMG that video is still way to darn cute!!! it cracks me up how babies will find the craziest things to laugh at and then you find yourself doing it over and over for them LOL!
